Purple Tea

This card is created for Joan's touch Challenge #10--where we are to distress edges, something from nature, and use purple and white for our cards.  My card is created with white cardstock burnished with  purple ink, a white matte layer embossed with E-Bosser's Dotted Edges folder, then a layer of purple shimmer cardstock (Ranger-Tim Holtz), and then white cardstock, stamped with Graphics 45's Cling Stamps that accompany the Botanical Tea paper packs, (#1088797)  The stamp is the Citronier stamp with lemons and oranges on an old fashioned invoice tag.  I left this duo-one rather than coloring the stamp.  All the mattes are sewing machine (triple)  stitched in Madera rayon thread, (purple or white) on cardstock with distressed edges, distressed with the Tim Holtz distressing tool.  The E-bosser, and E-bosser's folder, and Graphics 45 products and shimmer papers are available at Joan's Gardens. The Hello Friend stamp is from the same stampset and will be adhered to the inside of the card.

Just Because Modeling

This card is created for Joan's Touch, Challenge #10--something from nature, purple and white, and distressed edges were the challenges for this week.  Here I tried out a metal sunflower stencil from Silhouette # SIL 1132.  I brushed on the German product by Viva called Modeling Cream (Pearl).  I'd never tried this before and made several tries before I got a nice impression. (HINT:  Don't let the modeling cream dry and stick your stencil to your paper!)  I used a Tim Holtz Edge Distressing Tool, for edges of all layers.   The little butterfly charm is a Creative Impressions butterfly paper fastener. The embossing Folder I used is M-Bossabilities EL-005 that I got at Joans Gardens, along with the E-Bosser electric embossing machine that I just LOVE, and I heat embossed (with white opaque EP) a stamp from the Just Rite Large Fancy Sentiment stamps that I also got at Joan's Gardens.  The royal purple paper is from SU.

Lace Hearts

OH I LOVE the brand-new Marianne Die (S503 Lace')! This tuck and fold doily is absolutely gorgeous and it came from At Joan's Gardens. I edged the plain red cardstock hearts that cut and tucked with JellyRoll Sparkle Pen.  And the tiny hearts around the middle of the die are accented with the same sparkle.  The middle of the die is a combination of tiny mulberry paper roses from I Am Roses.com and an organza rose by SU.  The sentiment from the oval is a sticker from Pop-Ups-Etc.  The medallion and sentiment ovals are embossed with SU's Textured Impressions Square Lattice EF.  The metal eyelets are by K&Company, set with my Crop-a-dile.  Thank you Terri and Joan.

I really love this Marianne tuck and fold Lace die, and in the card below, I've combined it with the centermost dies in the Spellbinders Gold Majesty  Circles (S4-409)  The embossed edge is from SU's Tulips embossing folder and the birthday sentiment is a sticker from Pop-ups Etc.  I spritzed the heart layer and the underlying doily diecut with Gold Shimmer.  OH the detail in these dies is amazing!

Tatters and Edges

This card was created for the Joan's Touch Challenge #9---using layers and DIES ONLY for a card in any colors.   I had a lot of fun using most of the dies in the S5-182  Spellbinders Borderabilites die set cutting from first one side and then the other of the designer paper.  The Flowers are Sizzix 657825  Tattered Flower Garland. (This is a long die and requires extended platform to cut) There are some tiny leaves diecut from Fauntleroy Crest, a Memory Box die #98222. All the dies I used can be purchased at Joan's Gardens.  Black brads, and a satin stitched ribbon complete this card.  Hard to photograph and process colors for this card are browns, ochres, and a deep red.

Butterfly Love

This card is created for Challenge #9 at Joan's Touch. The challenge this week is to create a multi- layered card using ONLY dies!  So this multi-layer from the bottom up, is purple cardstock run through my EBosser with MBossibilities folder EL-014 (Holiday Magic). This gorgeous m-bossability has beautiful swirls and tiny snowflakes on it, which really can't be seen, but add depth to the card as the base mat.  The Die cut rectangle is from Spellbinders S5-161 gorgeous "Radiant Rectangles" one of my favorite dies ever.  (This is available at Joan's Gardens)  The Butterfly, also available there, is Spellbinders S4-395  Les Papillions2.  He is filigree topped in lavender, with the bottom, cutaway so the wings float.  The script die-cut word "love" is a Stampin Up die.  I distressed the edges of the purple cardstock with Tim Holtz Distressing tool to add a little more texture to the matting.

Poppy Pretty

This card is created for Joan's Touch  Challenge #9.  The challenge was to use ONLY dies, any color, and at least two layers.  SO!  The card base is Core-di-nations Sandable light lime green.  The main die cuts are the entire set of my new Gold Majesty Circles by Spellbinders S4-409.  The flower in the middle is from the  Susan's Garden collection by Sizzix, Flower-Poppy #658416.  This is worked on orange cardstock burnished with rust, black soot, moss, and other inks from the Ranger Distressed Inks collection.  The de-bossed part of the gorgeous frame die is touched with gold gelly-roll metallic pen. This is placed on white, edges inked, polka dot embossed white cardstock.  All of the dies are available at Joan's Gardens.   The designer paper is from K&Company Sera Tera collection.    Note: I am never very happy with my flowers, though I try again and again to create them from dies.  This poppy is better, but the overall size of the flower isn't satisfactory to me on this intricate die.  I expect that I will redo the flower and this time use the delicate Susan's Garden 658407 Mini Daisy.  I will do them in white, and touch it with orange centers and I think I'll be happier!  If I do redo this with several little white daisies, I will add the re-make to this blog post.

Mousie Nurse

This Get Well Card is created for Joan's Touch Challenge #8 where we are to use a plaid paper, and a border around an image.  The image is a Dearie Dolls Digistamp.  I've colored the image with Copics and penned in the pencil 3D Glossy Glaze  (by Sakura of America).   The image is bordered by gold outline stickers, spritzed with Sheer Gold Shimmer Spritz on a red die cut border cut with Spellbinders Lacy Squares S4-295.   The plaid paper is from my scrap stash and is embossed with the Arrows Embossing Folder from SU.    The Spellbinders die, and similar embossing folders, glaze pens and stickers are all available at Joan's Gardens.

Retirement or Welcome Home

This card was created for Joan's Touch Challenge #8 where we were to use plaid, checked or striped paper, and frame an image. The striped paper is from Graphic 45's Botanical Tea collection and is the reverse side of Hummingbird thanks. The frame is created from cor-dinations by Tim Holtz which is sanded on the edges, and distressed with the Holtz distressing tool. It is fussy cut from a tracing of the largest of the Spellbinder's labels I used to cut the stamped image.  This image a decades old stamp I found and stamped on watercolor paper and burnished with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink "Old Paper" while it was still in the die. It is cut with Spellbinders Labels 8 S4-310.   The wired ribbon is by Craftsmart.  All this is on ecru textured cardstock.   I have not decided which sentiment I will use for the final card.  The Welcome Home sentiment is by Just Rite in the Large Fancy  Sentiments set.   That's not straight in the photo, but if I use that one I will tack it down (straight!!) with dark brown brads and arch the sentiment a little bit. Papers, dies, inks and this stampset are available from Joan's Gardens  The other sentiment is a SU "Happy Retirement" from Teeny  Tiny Wishes...both sentiments are heat embossed with "dark bark" embossing powder.

Cheers on Plaid

The Challenge this week is to use plaid, checked or striped paper, but a border around an image and use any color scheme.  The plaid paper is from my stash and is so "old" that I have cut away the designer.  The little Easter Tilda is from Magnolia-licious digital Stamps, Easter 2013 collection and she's colored with both Copics and with Tim Holtz  Distress Markers. The matting, image and sentiment  are cut with Spellbinders Labels 8 (S4-310) and are cut from Core-di-nations textured papers. The die cuts are burnished with Tim Holz Distress ink (Forest Moss)   The tulip corners are punched with the "Flowers" Fiskars corner puncher and the stamp is from SU's delightful dozen heat-embossed with black embossing powder.  Everything except the paper, punch and the SU stamps is available at Joan's Gardens.  Just write Terri what you would like to order, and she'll get it right out to you.

Wickedly wonderful! Thank you!

I created this simple gate-fold card using Graphic 45 paper from the Steampunk Spells Collection (Totally  Wicked).  The little owl is a sticker by Elizabeth Craft Designs #2560.  It is painted with Lumin Arts Silks Acrylic Glaze using several (and blending several) colors. The medallion was very lightly burnished with SU Island Indigo ink. Accents in sparkling gold are done with a jelly roll gold metallic Sakura pen.  The card is created from Tim Holtz Core-di-nations Ranger distressing paper, and the patterned paper is cut with one of the side-dies found in Sizzix #65971 Circle Flipits dies.  Inside is another scalloped circle cut from the same dieset stamped with the Thank You sentiment from Sassy  Salutations (SU).  The personal note is written on a die cut (top note) paper over the reverse of the Totally  Wicked paper set.  All of these products (except Stampin Up and Lumin Arts Silks Acrylic Glazes can be found at Joan's Gardens, but this card wasn't created for any of her challenges.

Bee Happy

This card is for the Joan's Touch Challenge this week where we are to use corners, patterned paper, and a stamp.  The Stamp is from Small Stamps HOTP-1154 Bee Happy, and is triple heat embossed in clear, 2 golds, and black EP over Staz On black ink.  The card is created from Tim Holtz Core-di-nations, and is sanded and then each honeycomb is touched with either star dazzle or gold gel-pen detail.  That embossing set is  Bubble and Honeycomb by Sizzix and is a Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fade Set (#657846).  This (and all embossing powders, the dies I used,  and all Tim Holtz products) are available at Joan's Gardens.)  The tag with sticker Thank You sentiment is from Labels 17--Spellbinders S5-025, the frames and die cut patterned paper are cut from Flower Pot by Heartfelt Creations HCD732; I got this versatile die at Joan's Gardens and liked it for the "corner" treatment on the shape.  The corners are Starform corners stickers with a honey colored rhinestone in them. The Thank you gold sticker sentiment is also a Starform sticker.  (I'm not sure whether this card is going to stay a Thank You card, because I created several popped-up sentiments that would work with this.)  The two sided patterned paper is  Bumble Wordplay designed by Jessica Chertkow from www.adornit.com.

Humming Thanks

This card is created for Joan's Touch Challenge #7 this week where we were to use double sided patterned paper, a stamp and corners.  My double sided paper is from Graphic 45, the stunning Fields of Flowers (4500879) from the  Botanical Tea Garden set.   I used two stamps.  The sentiment is a SU from Million and One  stampset, (heat embossed gold) and the other is the pretty little hummingbird by Small Stamps (Hot off the Press--HOTP-1151 "Hummingbird")  The hummingbird is heat embossed watercolor paper with white embossing powder (from Sweet Stamps), and colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. The corners are gold stickers by Starform (Elizabeth Crafts or Pop-UpsEtc). The center floral die cut and the middle die cut are Gold Labels 4--S5-159 by Spellbinders. They are edged in Mementos "Summer Sky" Dye ink. The outside is lightly burnished with  Tim Holtz old paper distressing ink.  The tiny roses are from I Am Roses, and the organza flower on the blue grosgrain knot is by SU. Everything I used can be purchased at Joan's Gardens except the SU products.
